An Evening with Dell, Media Event in Singapore

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 08:50 AM PDT

For the past few days, we had been posting about a Dell Media Event which was going to be held in Singapore. I was one of the attendees there and Dell made sure it turns out to be an unforgettable experience for all the techies, bloggers and media there.

The event was held at an apartment near the Scotts Road where bloggers and media were invited from the neighboring countries. I went all the way from Pakistan to Singapore to attend this Dell event.

The event kicked off with Dolly Chin, Regional Director in Consumer Marketing (Dell Asia Pacific) explaining the media about how Dell has been working on bringing a number of new consumer electronics in the part two years.

According to her, Dell has brought 30+ products in 24 months which are available in 60,000 stores worldwide!

The Penthouse

The photo above shows the layout of the penthouse and what Dell products will be available. All the rooms were divided into various sections and were themed accordingly.

Living Room

The large living room depicted an intelligent home for a modern tech savvy family. As Dell called it, the smart living room, had a TV which could stream movies directly from the Dell XPS.

Michael's Room

Michael is a sporty 15 year old teenager who loves to play Starcraft/FIFA and has tons of homework to complete as any other teenager in Singapore does. At the event, Michael was shown playing Warcraft and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on his Alienware desktop.

Bernadette's Room

Bernadette is an undergraduate female who loves fashion & a unique style to stand out. She loved using the blue Dell Inspiron 15R.

Dennis' Room

He is a quirky, young designer with his own company, works from home in a studio apartment.

Dennis showed us how he uses Dell AIO for his daily routine work. It is fully compatible with Windows 7 and it’s touch features.

Mrs. Baker's Kitchen

A busy working mother of three, Mrs. Baker needs to juggle her time well, multi-task, and keep her kids happy with healthy snacks throughout the day. She made yummy cupcakes for us!

Right after the media presentation by Ms Dolly Chin, we were taken up to the apartment for a free roam and try out the Dell products showcased there. Dell had arranged everything for the guests i.e. food, drinks etc.

Dell Products

A number of Dell products were there. Several laptops i.e Dell Inspiron R, Dell XPS Series, AlienwareM11x, desktops include Alienware Aurora ALX Desktop and Dell Inspiron All-In-One, and will also have Dell Streak and the just announced, Dell Venue Pro – powered by Windows Phone 7.

Dell Venue Pro

At the entire Dell event, Dell Venue Pro was the only product that attracted to me the most! Dell Venue Pro is one of the first devices to be powered by Windows Phone 7. I’ll do a preview post on this later.

Dell All-In-One

Here’s our Dell All-In-One quick demo video we made at the event:

And not to forget the food and rinks that were available for all the guests and attendees. I was not much hungry that day, otherwise I would have even reviewed each dish. Hehe!

I hope you enjoyed the review and all the photos of the entire event. I have a separate post on Dell Venue Pro which I’d be doing soon along with lots of photos and hands-on videos.

I really hope Dell would organize such events more often and would come out with tons of more awesome products every year!
