Skype for Android Released: Free Calls are Finally Here!!! Posted: 05 Oct 2010 02:21 AM PDT Skype for Android is an app we all have been waiting for a long time. Skype partnered with Verizon and only Verizon Android handsets were able to download the official Skype app. Today Skype released an Android app for all the users who are on a Android 2.1 or above device. Free calls are finally available to Android users now. Free Skype calls were removed from other IMs like Fring, Truphone – but thanks to the official app now, you can make them over WiFi or 3G. No video calls for now, though. May be in the next release we’ll get that. Download Skype for AndroidPoint your phone browser to www.skype.com/m and download it from there, or use the link given below for download. Requires Android 2.1 or higher.
