Opera Mobile for Android: Coming Within a Month

Posted: 15 Oct 2010 11:51 AM PDT

Yesterday, over at the Opera blog, the team announced that they will be releasing Opera Mobile for Android beta within a month.

If you don’t know what Opera Mobile is, it is just a mobile web-browser like the Opera Mini, but this one does not compress the web pages and loads them directly on your phone.

Opera Mobile will also feature pinch-to-zoom and hardware acceleration in the Android version of Opera Mobile. And these two features are also coming soon to the Opera Mini for iPhone.

The first public beta version of Opera Mobile for Android featuring pinch to zoom will be available from m.opera.com and Android Market within a month!

Android 2.2 Froyo for Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 Released, Update From Kies

Posted: 15 Oct 2010 09:12 AM PDT

Samsung has finally launched the official Android 2.2 Froyo (JP6) for several regions and is now rolling out through their desktop suite, Samsung Kies.

You can check for firmware update of Samsung Galaxy S by connecting your phone with the computer and run Kies.

I wished it was a OTA (over-the-air) update which would have made it so easier to update your firmware like on the Nexus One and several other Android devices.

So without wasting anymore time, I’m off to update my Galaxy S with the latest official Android 2.2 Froyo update.
