You heard the rumours, and now it’s coming! Apple is holding a “special event” on September 1 – which could only mean one thing: a new product is going to be launched!

There are lots of rumours of what Apple could launch in this special media event. To start with, new iPods are on the top of the rumours list, Apple TV, iTunes shows, possible the white iPhone 4, or iOS4 for iPad?

The list keeps going on and on. This “special event” will be held in San Francisco at 10AM PT/1PM ET.

Google has continued to evolve its Gmail web mail service which now includes a fully featured instant messaging service from the user's inbox. CNET has reported that Google may be taking the next step in revolutionizing their Gmail, as "Google is testing a Web-based service within Gmail that will allow users to place phone calls from their in-boxes." The new reported VoIP service will act more or less like the inbox version of Skype: letting users make VoIP calls to not only other Gmail or Google Talk contacts, but also to landlines and cellular phones around the globe.
