Google’s Response to Lawsuit Filed by Oracle

Posted: 14 Aug 2010 11:20 AM PDT

Yesterday the big news hit the internet that Oracle and Google will be battling out a copyrights infringements battle in court over the supremacy of who owns the right to Java. Today, we've got a latest update in the clash of the titans saga. Google today has responded to the lawsuit commenced by Oracle and expressed its disappointment over the issue but urged that it will defend its stance in the court.

The statement read something like this:

We are disappointed Oracle has chosen to attack both Google and the open-source Java community with this baseless lawsuit. The open-source Java community goes beyond any one corporation and works every day to make the web a better place. We will strongly defend open-source standards and will continue to work with the industry to develop the Android platform.

There you go, that was the first shot fired in a war that will rage for the next few weeks. No one knows who is correct at this early stage, however, sources are claiming that Oracle has filed the lawsuit against Google as "part of a larger negotiating effort by Oracle to land a sizable licensing fee." This was noted by USA Today. Only the court can decide who is correct or wrong. Let's wait and find out.

Unlock iOS 4.0.2 iPhone 3GS with UltraSn0w 1.1-1

Posted: 14 Aug 2010 08:14 AM PDT

A couple of days back, we discovered that the only iPhone that can be jailbroken on iOS 4.0.2 is iPhone 3G. Anyone having iOS 4.0.2 on their devices was simply out of luck to jailbreak iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

But looks like there is already a workaround for that. You can jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 and then unlock iPhone 3GS (on 4.0.2 iOS) with Ultrasn0w 1.1-1.

All you have to do is jailbreak iPhone 3GS with a custom firmware with an old bootrom using PwnageTool. Once you jailbreak it, you can unlock iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0.2 because the iOS 4.0.2 and 4.0.1 have the same baseband. The screenshot above says everything!
