Run CD/DVD Applications From Hard Disk with Virtual CloneDrive

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:13 PM PDT

A number of software are available to run CD/DVD applications from your hard disk, but not all are free and easy-to-use. Virtual CloneDrive is one freeware I love to use.

Virtual CloneDrive is a freeware that allows you to run CD/DVD applications from the hard disk. You don’t need to have any physical CD/DVD drives or the actual CD/DVD media.

It works like Daemon-Tools or Alcohol 120%, but only for virtual drives for the Images: .ccd, .dvd, .img, .iso and .udf.

Like I said, it is very simple and easy to use.

Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Update on March 20th

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:05 PM PDT

Samsung Galaxy S Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) update leaked out on the web a few days ago, but still there was no confirmation on when the final Galaxy S Gingerbread update would release.

Now thanks to Samsung Mobile’s Romanian team, the date (March 20th) for the Samsung Galaxy S Gingerbread seems imminent. Froyo update for Galaxy S will roll out till the 20th Match, and then from that date onwards, Samsung will roll out the official Gingerbread update for Galaxy S.

Till now, only the Nexus S and Nexus One runs on the official Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3). A number of other devices can also run Gingerbread, thanks to developers and their efforts to port the latest Android OS to old devices. If 20th March is the date for Galaxy S Android 2.3.3 update, then it will be the first non-Google device to run on Gingerbread.

Gingerbread Theme for Windows Mobile Phone

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 09:35 PM PDT

If you’re one of those who still love to use Windows Mobile 6.5.x phone, then this post is for you. Some developers over at XDA-Developers have worked on a Honeycomb theme for Windows Mobile 6.5 devices and in some way, it works a lot like the original Honeycomb (Android 3.0).

The theme replaces the default Windows Mobile home screen with Honeycomb wallpaper, time and includes the notification bar on the top, just like Android 2.3.3 devices (Gingerbread).

You will be able to use your Windows Mobile device just like you use an Android phone with many core apps (keyboard, dialer etc) themed to look like Android as well.

All the file downloads are available at XDA-Developers are available for devices running on higher than Windows Mobile 6.5.x (This Android theme won’t work for WinMo 6.5).

After ages of beta testing, Firefox 4 is finally releasing on March 22, according to Mozilla’s Senior Director of Platform Engineering Damon Sicore.

Firefox 4 is currently in its release candidate stage and will most likely be available for download on Tuesday, next week.

This browser seems promising as I have been following Firefox 4′s development since beta releases and I can’t wait to finally upgrade to the new Firefox 4.

Download Naima PS3 CFW 3.55/3.60 Hybrid with Full PSN Access

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 08:51 AM PDT

Naima CFW 3.55 / 3.60 Hybrid is now available for download. Naima Custom Firmware 3.55 / 3.60 Hybrid gives full PSN access and retains jailbreak PS3 3.60 firmware.

The CFW 3.55 / 3.60 is actually a hybrid of PS3 firmware 3.55 and 3.60. It uses some files from the new PS3 firmware 3.60 update and at the backend, it is still the old PS3 3.55 firmware.

It spoofs your firmware to retain your full PSN access for games (multiplayer gaming etc.). The dev says that only 3 bytes of vsh.self has been modified and is required for the PS3 3.60 spoof to work.

NOTE: This is for educational purposes only and we do NOT condone piracy or hacking in any form.

Remember: It is always best not to access PSN on your jailbroken PS3. You never known what method Sony might use to ban you forever!

*** THIS IS CFW for FW 3.55 NOT FOR FW 3.60 ***

Download and apply it to Official Firmware 3.55

Internet Explorer 10 Might Ship With Windows 8

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 07:38 AM PDT

Microsoft is planning to ship Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) with Windows 8? Well, it seems so. IE9 just released yesterday and the rumours of IE10 have already started surfacing that it might be released along with Windows 8 in 2012.

This new rumour comes in from a Chinese website Win7China – The same website that leaked the first Windows 8 screenshots.

According to them, IE10 is already in Windows 8 M3, but that is still unconfirmed. The arrival of IE10 with Windows 8 sounds fine as by the time Windows 8 will be released, IE9 would be an year old.

No leaked IE10 screenshots or other information for now, but I’m sure they would soon be available!

Check out for more Windows 8 screenshots and other leaked information here.
