BlackBerry Messenger for Android & iOS: Coming Soon?

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 12:56 PM PST

Now this something big! It is rumoured that RIM’s BlackBerry Messenger mgith be soon available on Android and iOS devices.

BGR reports that RIM is still working on the strategy and when to make it available for Android and iOS users, but it could be anytime before the end of this year.

BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS will be available for free or RIM might charge a one-time fee.

There are lots of other services and apps offering similar functionality i.e WhatsApp and Kik, but BlackBerry Messenger is still the most popular messaging app which is soon going cross-platform.

It is expected that BlackBerry will offer a stripped down version of BBM on Android and iOS i.e without feature to send photos, audio, videos etc. I’m not sure how this will go, but we (Android and iOS users) would love to try out the BlackBerry Messenger on our devices and see what is the hype all about.

iPad 2 Jailbreak Might Be Possible on iOS 4.3

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 12:19 PM PST

Apple unveiled the all new iPad 2 yesterday at a press event where it also announced the iOS 4.3 and other iPad accessories.

iPad 2 is not yet available in stores, but there is something already to worry about. Will there be jailbreak for iPad 2 available for iOS 4.3?

There might be a possibility that Apple would have patched up the previous exploits found in iOS 4.2 for jailbreaking. What now? Devs will have to look for a new exploit to jailbreak iOS 4.3.

An iPhone hacker, @p0sixninja, is hoping that the old SHAtter exploit still exists to jailbreak iOS 4.3 easily without having to look for new ones.

Microsoft is busy with the next major operating system release – Windows 8 – which is to be out in 2012. Today, a Chinese site Win7China got hold some new information about what new features Microsoft will include in Windows 8.

Along with the new features, the site also included a Windows 8 screenshot of Windows Live ID login.

This is what was found about the factory restore feature in Windows 8.

The site states that Windows 8 will have a factory restore feature that will return the computer to its factory state in under 2 minutes and that the installation time of Windows 8 M3 took 8 minutes to install. This install time is approximately 2.5 times faster than Windows 7.

The factory restore feature will not require a disk to be inserted to accomplish this task and the required hard disk space to do this is said to be minimal.

Windows 8 App Store and many other features will also be included in the upcoming Windows 8.

As the release time gets near, more and more leaks and news will start surfacing over the internet. We’re looking forward to more!
