THE DAILY CRUNCH
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 2017 By Anthony Ha

The world is terrible and 2017 has been especially bad. But once in a while, we have brief moments of grace, like the release of an epic new Mario game. Plus, Twitter has a good quarter, Uber adds a long-awaited feature and you can buy cars on Facebook. All that and more in The Daily Crunch for October 26, 2017.

1. Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece of twists and turns

Devin Coldewey checks out the big Mario title for the Nintendo Switch. His conclusion? "Super Mario Odyssey is a embarrassment of riches."

Devin also uses his review to drop some serious knowledge about classical Greek, because that's how we do reviews here at TechCrunch.

2. Twitter bans Russia Today and Sputnik from advertising on its service

While it has banned both outlets from running ads, it will allow them to retain their accounts on the service "in accordance with the Twitter Rules."

3. Twitter gets a surprise beat in Q3 on sales of $590M and EPS of $0.10

Meanwhile, Twitter had some good news on the earnings front.

4. Uber will now let you add multiple stops to your route

Lyft introduced this feature last year, so it's kind of crazy that it's taken Uber this long.

5. Facebook launches Marketplace for cars with dealers and Blue Book pricing

You'll now be able to use new search filters in Facebook's Marketplace to find a ride with a specific type, make, model, mileage, transmission and more, both from other users and car dealerships.

6. LG's mobile business can't stop losing money

LG Mobile has posted just one quarter of profitability over the last two years, and its woes continued in its most recent quarter.

7. Three engineers sue Uber over unequal pay, claiming sex and racial discrimination

Three Latina software engineers are suing Uber for allegedly discriminating against women and people of color. Their suit claims that the company gave them less compensation because of their gender and race.
