Hulu Plus Announced for iPhone, iPod Touch And iPad

hulu_logo Hulu, one of the most popular video streaming service besides Youtube has decided to charge its user fee to view HD content. This paid subscription plan will have users paying $10 per month in order to gain access to HD content on Hulu.

Hulu feature which makes it distinct from other streaming service providers is that it allows users to access its services on a wide variety of devices. It is available to standard desktop PC users, users of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The service is also available on TV, with selected models of Samsung, Sony and Vizio and gaming consoles like Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Hulu is working constantly to add more devices into its service pool.

The Xbox 360 service will be launched in early 2011 as confirmed by Larry Hryb (Major Nelson), Director of Programming for Xbox Live.  "We are taking the time to ensure that the Hulu Plus experience for Xbox 360 is the best on TV and like our other entertainment experiences, it will not be a port, but rather a custom experience that leverages the Xbox Live community features", said the Director. Sony, a competitor to Microsoft's Xbox 360 with its Play Station 3 gaming console has also confirmed to VG247 that Hulu Plus will be coming PlayStation 3 soon, with details to be announced "shortly". Also, Hulu is planning to launch its Hulu Plus service to the US residents in July. Interested viewers can get a preview of what Hulu Plus has to offer by signing up for it.

Cisco Introduces Android Based Tablets for Enterprises

Cisco, a popular multinational corporation that designs and sells consumer electronics and focuses on networking devices has decided to take a swim into the great ocean of tablet electronic devices. In an official press release today, Cisco Systems announced that they'll be joining a vast majority of companies worldwide who develop and sell tablets. The new tablet named "Cisco Cius" is slated for an early 2011 release and will feature Google's Android operating system.

According to Cisco, the new tablet will “delivers virtual desktop integration with anywhere, anytime access to the full range of Cisco collaboration and communication applications, including HD video.” The tablet will feature a full 720p HD camera, and a 5 megapixel back mounted camera. Other features will include Bluetooth, USB, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and 3G cellular service. 4G support will be added in the near future.

Along with all the hardware features offered by Cisco, the tablet users will be able to access Android applications on the market place. Device APIs and SDK will also be released by Cisco so developers can make applications for the device. Cisco has denied any rumors that iPad was the motivating factor for the release of tablet. Tom Puorro, director of product management in Cisco’s IP communications unit, said “the iPad was not the primary driver for the creation of the Cius, though he did note that development was accelerated following the iPad’s introduction. He said, "Cisco began working on the device about 18 months ago.
